I’m fascinated by anatomy and biomechanics, and also by the interaction of the mind and body. Attention and focus during asana have the power to quiet the mind, preparing for deep relaxation and meditation. I teach a mindful class, holding and exploring the poses, whether it’s a beginner class or a more advanced one, and do my best to give each student individual attention. The teachers who have influenced me the most come from the Iyengar tradition, with its emphasis on alignment, awareness of subtle sensation in the body, the interaction of posture and breath, and the use of props to expand students’ potential in any pose.
